To ensure your comfort, we provide waterproof wellies, allowing you to fully experience the mirror effect without worry. Sip on a hot cup of coffee as you soak in the peaceful magic of this otherworldly setting. After witnessing one of the most awe-inspiring sunrises on the planet, we return to Uyuni around 7:30 AM, leaving you with unforgettable memories of this celestial adventure.
Please Note:
Full moon nights may reduce stargazing visibility due to increased brightness. Check the 2025 moon phases here: https://www.timeanddate.com/moon/phases/
The mirror effect can be seen year-round when a thin layer of water enhances the salt flats’ reflective surface. However, after the dry season (typically September to November), water levels may decrease depending on weather conditions.

Your tour begins with hotel pick-up between 2:50 a.m. and 3:10 a.m. From there, we'll head into the heart of the majestic Uyuni Salt Flats, where your local Nomadex guide will take you to the perfect spot for stargazing. With minimal light pollution, you'll witness dazzling constellations and the breathtaking Milky Way, creating a magical landscape where the sky and earth seem to become one.

Sunrise Timing: Departure times may vary depending on the time of year, as they are adjusted according to sunrise times. Between November and January, when sunrise occurs earlier, the tour starts at 3:00 a.m. Between June and July, when sunrise occurs later, the tour starts at 3:30 a.m. to ensure the best experience.
Mirror Effect: The mirror effect is most likely to occur during the rainy season, from January to June, when a thin layer of water covers the salt flats. During the dry season (July to December), it is less likely to be seen, as it depends on the amount of rainfall each year. The mirror effect cannot be guaranteed.
Stargazing: Moon phases affect stargazing conditions. During full moon nights and the days around them, moonlight reduces the visibility of stars, especially the Milky Way. For the best experience, we recommend tours during new moon or nights with minimal moonlight. View Recommended Dates.
Weather Conditions: During the rainy season, weather conditions in the Uyuni Salt Flats can change quickly. The tour may start with rain and then clear up, or rain may occur during the experience. Cloudy skies can reduce star visibility, so stargazing conditions cannot always be guaranteed.
