7 Lakes of Ausangate

Our expedition to the 7 Lakes of Ausangate begins with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco.

After approximately 6 hours of travel, we will arrive at the charming Pacchanta community, where we will be welcomed with a traditional regional breakfast. Following a brief orientation with our guide, we’ll prepare to start the hike through the majestic 7 Lakes of Ausangate.

During this 7.5 km (4.6 mi) trek, which takes approximately 5 hours, we will visit the picturesque lakes of Azulqocha, Otorongo, Puqacocha, Alqacocha, Qomercocha, and Patacocha, while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Ausangate, Mariposa, Jampa, Pucapunta, Caracol, and Tinke. Along the way, we may spot a variety of native birds, as well as alpacas, llamas, and—if we’re lucky—the majestic Andean condor.

After completing the trek, we’ll return to Pacchanta for a hearty lunch, followed by relaxation in the local hot springs, where we can recharge after this unforgettable experience in the Andes. Our adventure concludes with a return to the city of Cusco, estimated around 7:00 p.m.
